Peace of Time

from $60.00

Location: The Mahamuni Buddha Temple

This happened to be the full moon of Tabodawe (the 11th month in the Burmese calendar), one of the most important religious events in Myanmar. I was invited by a group of nuns from my stay, and had the privilege of witnessing the heartfelt offerings to the monks. It was relatively quiet before the starts of the events while people still preparing. As the clock tower rings, pigeons took off, it marks the beginning of the ceremony. Yet, even in motion, peace remained, woven into the rhythm of time itself.
